30 Years of Business - Still a Family Story!

Allow me to take you on a journey back to 1992 when my parents, Jo and Richard Morshuis, embarked on an exciting venture by opening ‘Quarry Road Home & Garden’. Their dedication and passion for the industry led to the establishment of ‘Mosgiel Garden Place’ in 1998, and soon after, they expanded the business by adding ‘Mosgiel ITM’ in 2000.

Throughout the years, our whole family has been deeply involved in the business. From its early days, we've had the pleasure of having Dad's mum, Trudi, and Dad's brothers contribute their expertise and hard work to the shop. We even had our aunty Debs running the beloved "Cobblestone Cafe". It truly has been a family affair, and the sense of kinship and dedication has always been at the heart of our operations.

For almost three years, our family actually lived on-site. Mum, Dad, my older sister Jamie, and I set up camp in the old Telecom offices while we waited for our forever home to be built. Mum might not recall those times too fondly, but for us kids, it was a blast! This place is practically my second home.

In recent times, we've made some changes to better serve you and accommodate the growing needs of our community. Over the past two years, we joined the two buildings together, allowing more space for power tools and expanding our ITM offerings. This expansion has been driven by our desire to continuously improve and adapt to the evolving requirements of our valued customers like you.

Now, we've got some exciting news to share. Chris (my husband) and I have recently become business partners, ensuring that we see this awesome business continue to thrive. Chris is working in the ITM and in the short time he’s been here, is quickly getting to know our fantastic community of builders and tradespeople. This move gives our folks, Jo and Richard, a chance to take a step back and enjoy spoiling their grandkids. We’ve got to keep those smiles going!

Oh, and speaking of awesome team members, we want to assure you that while our business evolves, our core values and dedication to exceptional service remain the same. We will continue to provide you with the same friendly faces and the reliable assistance you have come to expect from us. We consider you part of our extended family, and we are committed to maintaining the strong relationships we've built over the years.

We appreciate your continued support, and we look forward to serving you for many more years to come. If you have any questions or need assistance with anything, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're here for you.

On behalf of the Mosgiel Garden Place & ITM family.
