Popular selection from Turkey. Fruit is large to very large, furrowed, oblong/pear-shaped, golden-yellow and very aromatic. Flesh is mild, tender, light yellow and is of excellent quality. The fruit keeps very well. Moderately vigorous tree with unusually large leaves. Slef-fertile.
Prefers a well drained, sunny & sheltered site. Water well during the early years, during long dry periods and when the fruit is developing. Harvest time is usually in March and April. Trees may take 3-4 years to produce significant numbers of fruit. Quinces are essentially inedible when raw, so should be stewed.
